Look Younger at Every Age with These Timeless Skincare Tips

Look Younger at Every Age with These Timeless Skincare Tips

skincare for every age

Skincare at every age is important if you’re trying to carry your youthful glow well into your 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond. What worked in your 20s won’t exactly help you in your 30s. For lifelong radiance, it’s important to tailor a daily skincare regimen to what your skin needs each year.

That’s where Brea O’Donnell comes in. She’s a talent specialist and licensed aesthetician with PRIV, a new app that’s considered a GlamSquad on steroids. Aside from just hair and nails, you can order spray tans, facials, massages, personal trainers and more straight to your home. And they’re expanding—the app just hit Miami and Chicago in July and August, respectively.

O’Donnell’s clients always ask how they can get back their youthful skin, and her biggest piece of advice is paying attention to your specific needs at every age. Here are O’Donnell’s tips for what to do, and what products to use, to stay youthful no matter what stage your skin is in.

By starting early with a good skincare and facial routine, specifically in your early- to mid-20s, you have the ability to significantly slow down the aging process.

This may sound repetitive, but it’s said over and over for good reason: wear sunscreen! UV exposure is the leading cause of aging, and unfortunately most of the damage is done at an early age. By incorporating sunscreen into your daily regimen, you are significantly slowing down the aging process. Think of it less like a sunscreen and more like a moisturizer or BB cream. By using one that smells less like the beach and more like a foundation or cream, you’ll be much more likely to use it on a daily basis.

Don’t forget to apply SPF to your hands and décolletage as well; the skin in these places is very thin and more susceptible to wrinkles. Prevention is everything—you’ll thank yourself later.

Glossier Invisible Shield – No greasiness. No white finish. No effect on makeup. No excuse not to wear sunscreen every single day.

HydroPeptide Solar Defense Tinted SPF 30 – This creamy sunscreen adjusts to your skin tone as you blend it in. The finish is rather luminous, giving your complexion a healthy radiant glow. Ingredients like aloe, green tea, acai and hyaluronic acid round this product out to be equal parts sun protection and skincare.

St. Tropez Self Tan Express Bronzing Face Sheet Mask – Fake it ‘til you make it! This revolutionary facial sheet mask is infused with a hydrating tanning serum to nourish skin, while providing a radiant, dewy glow. It’s the best of both worlds.

skincare for every age

Stop it, you are not old! Before you rush out for a quick fix like Botox, try falling in love with your skincare regimen first. If you don’t love it, if it’s expired, if it doesn’t seem to be doing anything for you, toss it. There are so many incredible products on the market, don’t waste your time or money on one that you’re not excited about.

Rather than viewing it as a chore, consider your regimen more like a daily indulgence. That also goes for facials. I know what you’re thinking—you don’t have the time, right? Make the time. You only have one face, and later on you’ll wish you had taken the time for a skincare regimen and facials.

If you do decide to use a little filler, don’t consider it a replacement for good, solid skincare. One does not replace the other.

Jan Marini Skin Research Skin Care Management System – A repeat award-winner for good reason, this powerful, all-inclusive kit helps kiss signs of aging goodbye for truly transformed skin. Lines, wrinkles and sun damage will be a thing of the past.

Kevyn Aucoin The Sensual Skin Primer – This lightweight primer blends with creamy concealer to give skin a radiant, dewy finish while simultaneously helping makeup stay on longer. It also helps protect your skin against environmental pollution. The primer is formulated with botanical extracts, antioxidants and hyaluronic acid to prime and plump.

Tatcha Water Cream – What makes this moisturizer a must-have? Well, for starters, the gel-like texture feels lighter than water. As for the formula, ingredients like Japanese botanicals work to tighten pores and smooth skin, while green tea, rice and algae restore radiance and youth in your complexion. Skin is left feeling nourished and hydrated without any sticky or greasy residue, making it a great option for all skin types.

You want to age gracefully and look like the best version of yourself. So how do you do that? Collagen. By the time you are 50 years old, you’ve lost approximately half of the collagen you were born with. Supplements will work with your own body to rebuild what you have lost over time.

Not feeling so adventurous? Moisturize. When it comes to maximizing the potential of antiaging ingredients, or any ingredients for that matter, it’s always important to moisturize. In being faithful to a good, long-lasting moisturizer and drinking plenty of water, you are slowing down the aging process significantly. Be sure to always apply your cream in an upward motion (think lifting your skin rather than pushing it down).

Lumity – Take three soft gel tablets when you wake up and three before bed. That’s it. And no, it’s not too good to be true.

Perricone MD H2 Elemental Energy Hydrating Booster Serum – Not a fan of thick moisturizers? Here is the perfect product for you. As a high-powered hydrating serum fueled by hydrogen, this product visibly plumps skin while also reducing the rough texture of a dry, stressed-out complexion.

Environ Intensive Revival Masque – This product is referred to as a facelift in a bottle thanks to the intense active ingredients that directly address signs of aging. It’ll leave your skin looking more radiant and youthful after just one use. Lactic acid helps to boost hydration and lightly exfoliate.

skincare for every age

They say that your eyes are the first thing to give away your age, and O’Donnell agrees. By 55, years of hard work chasing babies and husbands around have left you—well, tired.

How do you combat tired eyes? They call it beauty sleep for a reason. Countless studies have proven how important sleep is for your skin (not to mention just about everything else). Consistently aiming for eight hours of sleep, changing your pillowcase regularly, and applying a good eye cream twice daily will “wake you up” and give you a brighter and more youthful appearance.

When choosing a cream, look for one that does more than just “reduce fine lines and wrinkles.” That’s a given. What you need is one that hydrates, resurfaces and reduces inflammation. Retinol/Glycolic blends are your friends. While we can’t control what happens at the office and at home, we can now, luckily, better control how it shows up in the mirror.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask – After 10 minutes with these eye patches, the evidence of those long days and late nights will be drastically reduced, lines will be plumped and your eyes refreshed.

KORRES Black Pine 3D Sculpting, Firming & Lifting Super Eye Serum – Taking a 360-degree approach to aging, this serum even takes your lids and lashes into account when turning back the hands of time. Panthenol moisturizes skin and nourishes lashes for younger-looking eyes, while three types of hyaluronic acid and oat-derived sugars smooth and “lift” the area for a smoother, younger appearance almost instantly.

ReVive Renewal Serum – Improve the appearance of sagging skin and wrinkles while creating a visible youthful lift. This product promises that the skin around your eyes will look more vibrant and illuminated.

Over time, skin starts to lose elasticity. It tends to take on more of a slack appearance, particularly affecting the lower part of the face as well as the neck. As we age, the skin around your lips becomes very thin, so taking care of that area becomes even more important.

Anything you can apply around your eyes can also be applied around your mouth. So after applying your eye cream, put a small amount on your finger and apply around your mouth in a light tapping motion. Don’t forget your smile lines!

Le Mieux Eye & Lip Cream – This rich cream is formulated with potent antioxidants to reduce fine lines and wrinkles for a more youthful smile.

Total Eye Repair Cream by Renée Rouleau – Intended for both the eyes as well as the lips, this product is formulated with the highest concentration of wrinkle-repairing and firming ingredients to improve and correct the appearance of dryness, fatigue and expression lines. The result: radiant and smoother skin with less visible wrinkles.

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Neck and Décolleté Firm and Repair Cream – This product takes the anti-aging benefits of its Prevage line and puts them to use in a neck cream that firms skin while improving radiance.

First Aston Martin AM37 Owner Takes Delivery in Miami

The first AM37 owner has taken delivery of his new Aston Martin powerboat, which will be berthed in Miami. Handcrafted in the UK by Quintessence Yachts, AM37 hull #1 is customized with many additional features including the AM37S propulsion package, which affords a top speed in excess of 50 knots.

Taking up the option to access the ‘Q by Aston Martin’ personalization service, the owner truly tailored his boat. Aston Martin designers helped translate preferred materials, colors and textures into key elements of the powerboat. The result is a stunning Mako Blue hull and an interior swathed in Baltic Blue and Cream Truffle upholstery with flashes of chrome.

Other features include a convertible sofa, matte Lacewood table and a special version of the Champagne cooler finished in Baltic Blue carbon fibre, which holds two bottles of Champagne and six flutes.

The vessel includes a full range of options, including air-conditioning, and the powerboat has Axius Joystick Piloting, which provides superb manoeuvrability and precise handling, with an intuitive joystick. Having seen the powerboat in action on her test run, the new owner requested underwater lights in the hull, a bespoke addition that is now available as an option for future clients.

Quintessence Yachts unveiled the much-anticipated prototype of the AM37 at last year’s Monaco Yacht Show. Since then, the  team has gone into overdrive building bespoke AM37s for clients keen to own their very own Aston Martin for the ocean.

The powerboat is available in two versions: a ‘gran turismo’ leisure powerboat with a choice of twin 370-hp Mercury diesels or two 430-hp Mercury petrol engines, and an AM37S version with twin 520-hp petrol engines by Mercury Racing.

Quintessence Yachts also started the production of a spectacular bespoke version for a discerning client who will put his boat through her paces on the Swiss lakes.

This AM37 matches the client’s new Aston Martin Vantage AMR road car with bulkheads and cabinetry finished in Charcoal Lacquer, and grey Novasuede headlining and window bands. The contemporary configuration has additional engine room sound insulation to comply with the stringent rules which apply to powerboats used on the Swiss lakes. All AM37s benefit from a unique sliding cockpit cover which can be remotely operated with a mobile app.

Navigation, control monitor and entertainment systems are integrated within a 15-inch touchscreen in the dashboard, with advanced functions to control the electric anchor, retractable bimini and retractable swim platform. Each of these day cruisers is manufactured using the latest in composite technologies and features many carbon fiber mouldings, including the deck of the boat.

Quintessence Yachts CEO Mariella Mengozzi concluded, “With so many options available to our clients we are confident that there will never be two identical AM37s. At the heart of our approach is a commitment to listen to customers and understand their needs, supporting their choices with the finest quality artistry. By fusing the maritime and automotive worlds with the universal characteristics of style and elegance, AM37 offers the perfect balance of design and engineering, performance and comfort, luxury and functionality.”

How A “Regular Brooklyn Kid” Became One Of NYC’s Hottest Menswear Designers

How A “Regular Brooklyn Kid” Became One Of NYC’s Hottest Menswear Designers

A man in the right suit is a powerful thing. Such is the knowledge of designer, fashion influencer and overall dapper dresser Davidson Petit-Frère. At the tender age of 27, the native Brooklynite already has two successful brands under his belt, Musika Frère and Lavati. Both brands outfit some of the biggest names in the game, be it on the court or the silver screen. Davidson counts A-listers like Steph Curry, Kevin Hart, Chris Evans, and Jay-Z among his clients, but the list is ever growing. JustLuxe recently sat down with the designer to pick his brain about where men’s fashion is headed and how he intends to dominate it.

After a brief stint in college, an 18-year old Davidson left academia behind to pursue a career in real estate. Despite achieving success in his field at an incredibly young age, he quickly found that his passion lay somewhere other than in buying and selling property. Working in the high-powered New York City real estate world often meant dressing the part—something that Davidson enjoyed more as his career wore on. At 21, after growing an avid fanbase through his Instagram and an impressive lsit of personal contacts, he chose to leave his first profession to pursue fashion full-time. When asked about the gravity of that transition, he simply states that, “it’s not about the money at the end of the day. It’s about loving what you do.” A year later, his first collection was born.

davidson frere

Musika Frère, Davidson’s first fashion label, is the brainchild he shares with business partner and former Tom Ford Miami ambassador Aleks Musika. The two collaborated heavily, scouring the globe for the best manufacturers and designers that could create a product that would garner respect and, ultimately, admiration for their clientele. In his own words, “we had to crawl before we could walk…we focused heavily on the craftsmanship and DNA of our brand before anything else.” Musika Frère began bespoke, creating custom-tailored suits that gave their audience an outlet to create exactly what they wanted to see in fashion. While the brand has moved some of their wares to their online boutique, having one-on-one, custom contact with their clients is still at the heart of their business. The label has also moved on to staging fashion shows, showcasing at their first Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in September 2014.

When it comes to dressing clients, there are few fashion boundaries that the design duo isn’t willing to push; bold hues, custom fits and luxurious fabrics are all par for the course. The inspiration for this ethos comes from a variety of sources, including Davidson’s own father, a Haitian-born engineer with a passion for colorful, well-tailored workwear. Davidson claims his aesthetic is also informed by a desire to, “remix the past and make it more modern,” citing style icons such as Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren and Michael Jackson among his most influential muses. If there was anyone he’d want to dress for the future? “Idris Elba, Tom Brady, Migos and definitely Ryan Gosling—these are men that are all impactful in their fields and portray that look through their clothes,” he remarks.

Davidson’s sartorial talents aren’t relegated solely to clothes—he’s now making a name for himself in luxury footwear. His latest endeavor with co-founder Yossi Benshetrit is called Lavati, which roughly translates to “clean” from Italian. Clean is the right adjective for the line’s style, featuring classic shapes such as the Chelsea boot, as well as more contemporary sneakers that can be dressed up or down. Each shoe is crafted in Italy by hand, using the highest quality leathers and manufacturers available. To select each component for his collections, Davidson personally flies to Italy to ensure that every piece of product is the best of the best. “I’m not a do-things-by-phone kind of guy… It’s important that I see every step of that process firsthand.” He goes on that, “the same client that loves a Jordan 1 or a Yeezy would ideally purchase a Lavati shoe. The consumer will buy what they love because they know quality.”

The wait is over. All pairs have been restocked ✈️ #LAVATI #HandMade

A post shared by LAVATI (@lavatibrand) on

Though design is an important facet of his business, Davidson makes it clear, “I’ve always said that I’m an entrepreneur first and a designer second.” He credits much of his success to the accessibility and marketing available on social media. He claims that it “all started on Instagram. The hashtag allows someone to be seen in seconds, which gives you amazing press and your audience an outlet for their own content.” Ultimately though, the business always comes back to the clients. What drives Davidson Petit-Frère is not necessarily fame or money—it’s the opportunity to create a quality product that makes his customers feel good. “All fashion really is a boost for your self-esteem. Having the ability to give someone a temporary boost of confidence is why we do this. We put our heart and soul into our products so that our customers feel that and will want to come back for life.”

Despite his already myriad successes so early in life, Davidson isn’t ready to stop there. He plans to scale up Musika Frère in the coming years to include a wider range of accessories and designs, eventually making the brand even more accessible to consumers worldwide. When it comes to fashion, there are few limits to what this designer is ready to do.

Why should men have all the fun? Victorinox’s rugged-but-sexy I.N.O.X. men’s watch collection stylishly handles everyday adventures, and is virtually indestructible having withstood more than 130 stringent durability tests including being run over by a steamroller. It’s shock-, temperature- and water-resistant, keeping time in extreme environments, and paired with a Naimakka military-grade paracord strap, it’s a potentially life-saving combination.

With the introduction of the tough-but-beautiful I.N.O.X. V, it’s now in touch with its feminine side, and is just the sort of thing Wonder Woman wishes she had instead of that clunky pocket watch she inherited. Made for self-empowered, multi-tasking wonder women everywhere, the sculptural ladies’ timepiece has a 37mm stainless steel case with a scratch-resistant, anti-reflective sapphire crystal, Super-LumiNova hands and indexes and a Ronda 715 Swiss-made quartz movement. Four models make up the I.N.O.X. V range, including a crisp white dial with rose-gold details, and a black dial/black rubber strap version that acts as the Little Black Dress of the collection. Two sporty pieces – in dark blue and soft grey — have a paracord strap that can spring into action… sort of like Wonder Woman’s rope of truth. It even passes the “handbag challenge,” surviving clashes with metal keys, loose change, oily hand lotion, and corrosive insect repellent. And like the wondrous Princess of Themyscira, I.N.O.X. V watches can also be cleverly accessorized with a matching shield, supplied with each watch.

Forget what you’ve heard about Baltimore. One of the things this mid-Atlantic industrial town is best known for is its charm—miles of rowhouses, cobblestone streets and the infamous ‘hon’ you’ll hear at any eatery in town can speak to that. It’s not called “Charm City” for nothing. Anthem House, a new $100 million luxury development, is now adding itself among the reasons Baltimore has a growing reputation for cozy, yet quirky experiences.

The complex is unlike any in the city thus far, offering top-of-the-line amenities and shared co-working spaces to help foster a feeling of community. There are also well a a litany of perks; a community kitchen that serves handcrafted cocktails, a heated pool with views of the harbor and an around-the-clock concierge. In the lobby, sleek, open spaces flow into the on-site restaurant and bar Amber, which offers healthy grab-and-go fare for those on the run. In addition to an acre of green space on the fourth floor (complete with a grilling station!), the building also provides residents with a 3,800 square-foot gym and wellness area. Pet lovers are also welcome; the facility offers its own dog wash station, as well as a dog run to make sure your furry friend has all their fitness needs met.

Part of the inspiration for the complex came from the city of Baltimore itself. Both old and new, historic and propelling itself into the future, the city is never afraid to march to the beat of its own drum. Locust Point, the neighborhood Anthem House is located in, was a significant battleground during the Revolutionary War. In more modern times, it’s a hub for Baltimore’s up-and-comers. The area is also one of the most convenient places to live—it’s easy to get to any of the waterfront neighborhoods in the city via the nearby water taxi or the Charm City Circulator.

The complex offers 292 studio, one and two-bedroom upscale apartments with modern finishes and harbor or courtyard views. Residents at Anthem House will be hard-pressed to find a need that goes unfulfilled. In addition to each apartment having its own washer and dryer, select units also provide spacious balconies where you can watch the sunset over the Harbor with friends. When you’re in Charm City, there’s more to see and do than meets the eye. Whether you’re going for a rousing volleyball game at the Sandlot or grabbing a few drinks at Brewer’s Art, Anthem House is becoming a new Baltimore staple and it’s here to stay.

6 Gorgeous U.K. Wedding Venues From Film And Television

The U.K. is one of the most historically rich destinations in the world, from the castles of Scotland to the iconic country estates dotted around the English countryside, each with their own fascinating story to tell and plethora of famous ex-residents. So varied and culturally significant are these buildings that visitors from all over the globe frequently visit the UK simply to tour some of these stunning locations, from commercial ventures like Warwick Castle through to tourist hotspots like the Tower Of London.

Commonly, some of the most popular destinations are those that make regular appearances in film and television, particularly in popular series such as Harry Potter or Downton Abbey. I was invited to meet ELLE, a female graffiti and street artist turned muralist, while she was painting her latest masterpiece in the parking garage of the iconic Rock ‘n’ Roll hotel Sunset Marquis. As the future buses of rock stars pull into the hotel, they will be greeted by a striking piece of a young woman with the top of her head exploding, and multiple hands reaching out to grab as much knowledge as she can get. One eye is enlarged and filled with color and imagination.

Originally from California and now based in New York and Los Angeles, ELLE is one of the elite, in a world dominated by men. She looks like an ELLE magazine fashion model, even with an aerosol paint can in her hand. Her talent and beautiful appearance quickly prompted Liquitex Paint to sponsor her.

IKEA asked her to produce a piece and then sold it in every store worldwide. Other collaborations include Guess Foundation, Lyft, Vice, Etnia Barcelona, Smart Car, Iceland Airwaves, TNT Entertainment, the award-winning television show Mr. Robot and clothing companies Mishka and Mighty Healthy. Her masterpieces have been featured in books that include Street Art Today – The 50 Most Influential Street Artists, and Women Street Artists, the Complete Guide by Ian Castello.

ELLE also made a film appearance in the documentary Changing the World, One Wall at a Time created by the organization Education is Not a Crime. The movie addresses the injustice of young people in Iran and around the world being barred from higher education because of their race or religious preference.

At the Sunset Marquis, her mural is the first in Los Angeles for the organization #NotACrime, promoting street art for education equality. They commission the world’s most prominent street artists and muralists to tell a story about the importance of education through their art.

The campaign started in New York City to make people aware of the Baha’i people in Iran. Since 1979, the beginning of the Islamic Revolution, the Iranian government has been persecuting people of the largest religious minority: the Baha’i faith. Their businesses have been torched, and thousands of people have been harassed, jailed or killed. Young Baha’i people in Iran are banned from studying in Iranian universities, and teachers of the same faith are forbidden to teach.

ELLE first painted a beautiful piece in New York City for the campaign. While painting, she enjoyed talking to people who stopped to admire her art, asking “What are you doing? Why are you doing this?”  ELLE would share with them how people in the world are denied an education. Knowledge is power. Painting a mural engages people to talk about injustice and human rights. Sometimes it engages people more than a newspaper or magazine article.

Educating people about this cause through art moved to other boroughs in the city and New Jersey. Next it went global with other artists bringing their spray paint cans to walls in Cape Town, South Africa. This really hit home for the local people who have been denied an education, because of their race.

Soon #NotACrime was identifying discrimination around the world and hired artists in Rio de Janeiro, Sydney, London, Delhi, Atlanta and now Los Angeles to paint their messages. ELLE believes, “Positive art is crucial for community development. It offers a positive message and hopefully a change.”

LIFESTYLE/LUXURY YACHTS Is Land Rover’s Boat for America’s Cup Bringing Us One Step Closer to Flying Cars?

LIFESTYLE/LUXURY YACHTS Is Land Rover’s Boat for America’s Cup Bringing Us One Step Closer to Flying Cars?

Land Rover BAR

It’s counterintuitive, but the extraordinary sailboats used to race in this year’s 35th America’s Cup competition in Bermuda, don’t actually float in the water for most of the thrilling race course. They fly.

Land Rover BAR

It’s a new phenomenon in the competition for the oldest sporting trophy in the world. And the British racing team in particular is determined to take sailing technology above and beyond the norm with the help of the Land Rover engineering team. Two years ago, Sir Ben Ainsley—considered the world’s best sailing skipper—formed Ben Ainsley Racing to propel the British sailing team to international victories by forming an alliance with Land Rover engineers. Their goal was to develop the fastest, most advanced sailboat ever built. In 2015, Land Rover BAR was created and headquartered at Portsmouth, England, and the quest to become the best began.

Land Rover BAR

“We are determined to achieve our goal to bring the America’s Cup home to Britain,” said 2013 America’s Cup champion Ainslie, who won with Oracle Team USA and notes that in the 166-year history of the sport, his British homeland has never succeeded. His current team is talent rich with five Olympic gold medalists. “This team has really taken on the challenge. We are working with the best technology leaders Land Rover can offer. They are a great British brand and a fantastic engineering and technology company who work hand-in-hand with our design and engineering team.”

It took two years, $10 million, 35,000 man-hours, and 60,000 megabytes of data to design and build four test boats leading up to the final R1 race model for the 2017 America’s Cup competition. Astonishingly, the R1’s top speed is three-and-one-half-times the speed of wind. This is achieved by aerodynamics that raise the 2.5-ton boat above the waterline on wing-like hydrofoils the size of ironing boards. Ainslie controls the turns with a custom steering wheel based on the one for Land Rover’s new Discovery, complete with gear-shift paddles that control the boat’s height above the water. A 78.6-foot-tall Boeing 707 carbon-fiber sail acts as a wing providing the R1’s “engine” thrust.

Land Rover BAR

“These boats literally do fly,” says Martin Whitmarsh, CEO of Land Rover BAR, and the former head of McLaren Racing and the Formula One Teams Association. “It’s something that started happening quite recently in the 2016 America’s Cup. Incredibly, these boats will maneuver around the course and cross the finish line without touching down in the water. It’s a whole new field of sailing, breaking speed records day-by-day.”

To achieve this feat, Land Rover BAR’s engineering team focused their efforts in three areas: aerodynamics of the “powerhouse” wing sail, machine learning and artificial intelligence data analysis, and human machine interface, which is essentially the way Sir Ben and the sailors interact and control the boat. And it’s lessons learned in these three areas that are leading to real-life innovations in Land Rover automobiles, such as the all-new Land Rover Discovery, introduced at a 2016 global reveal by the Land Rover BAR team.

Land Rover BAR

For example, one tangible application is being made to car touchscreens. Thanks to experience and data collected on the water, the Land Rover BAR team has learned how to improve software and coding to prevent screen reflection at faster speeds. Aerodynamic lessons taught at sea are also finding practical use in virtual design innovations thanks to Fluid Structure Interaction which allows engineers to view the effects of motion and wind on the surfaces of a car much more realistically. This advanced aerodynamic simulation will allow designers to improve auto performance by taking weight out of the car, and stiffness out of body panels, fenders, and sunroofs where it’s not needed. Jump years ahead, and the same concepts – and perhaps a carbon-fiber Boeing wing — could lead to practical designs for real-life flying cars.

The future is now with Jaguar Land Rover’s Self Learning Car, a pioneer effort in the use of big data in the automotive industry. The company is throwing its considerable weight behind the ultimate intelligent driving experience by using the artificial-intelligence framework to allow cars to understand the driver’s personal preferences. It’s a safe bet that the Land Rover BAR team will be accelerating its use of artificial-intelligence for their next generation of racing rigs. “The technology is still in its infancy,” says Whitmarsh, who’s already planning bold improvements for next year’s Land Rover BAR competition vessel. “We’re talking high performance car acceleration on a boat. The sky’s the limit to where this could take autos.”

In celebration of Lexus’ all-new LC 500 luxury coupe, Barneys New York is offering a finely crafted, limited-edition collection of barware inspired by the car’s elegant design. Inspired by the LC 500, the four handcrafted pieces include a lead-free crystalline wine decanter with a unique, leaning silhouette designed to maximize wine aeration; a stingray-leather covered bar tray to match the Lexus LC 500’s interior paneling; and a foil cutter and double-levered corkscrew fashioned in mirror-polished stainless steel and white mother-of-pearl “to reflect the bespoke white leather upholstery of the car,” notes Tom Kalenderian, Executive Vice President of Barneys. The set comes with an orange travel pouch to match the car’s award-winning interior trim. “The colors for the LC 500 were chosen for their bold, statement-making effect,” says Brian Bolain, Lexus’ USA General Manager for Product and Consumer Marketing. “And the sommelier set, like the car, was designed for those who are not afraid to be noticed.”

The Lexus XO Barneys New York’s sommelier set is available in a limited quantity and can be purchased online, or at the Madison, Beverly Hills, and Chicago stores.
